How We Help Our Customers
Will operate under an established preventive maintenance program and will support internal customers by responding to repair calls to resolve problems using appropriate, test tools, equipment and procedures. Complies with machine safety, building, security, and environmental codes and regulations.
Typical tasks may include, responding to Hot and Cold trouble calls and resolving a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity, interpret basic schematics and diagrams, install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and rework HVAC equipment and other related machinery.
Technician will perform HVAC/R services to include Preventive Maintenance, Planned Services, Reactive Demand and Planned Job work orders as assigned. Other duties include; timely completion of daily work schedules / work orders, quality workmanship / inspection of work, assist in inventory management / kitting of parts, materials and equipment / tools and supporting the HVAC/R Maintenance Foreman as directed.
Technician will inspects and test systems for refrigerant leaks. Repairs leaks, evacuates, cleans and purges systems. Recharges systems with proper refrigerant amounts and adjusts metering and pressure devices. Uses charts, tables and graphs to determine proper setting of refrigerant expansion valves, back pressure valves, and capillary tube feed for all types of refrigerants used in various systems
Maintain and utilize all necessary schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical documents, logic ladders, software, and procedures. Troubleshoot communication protocols to enable transmission and receipt of information between various HVAC systems.
Will utilize a variety of hand and power tools to renovate and repair facilities and related equipment. May receive specialized equipment training.
May provide training to peers and/or customers on the general use of equipment. General knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety procedures is required.
Strong interpersonal skills, verbal / written communication skills, problem solving (root cause analysis) and proven technical skills in maintaining chillers, towers, boilers, and other similar industrial level HVAC/R assets. Proficient (verbal & written) in English.
Participate in job planning and coordinating. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in systems and components and determine corrective action including pneumatic and control systems. Work with other Technicians and departments to assist in troubleshooting. Work with employees of different classifications who are engaged in the maintenance, installation, repair, retrofit, modification, calibration, adjustment, and testing of precision machine tools. Provide information to succeeding shifts using management approved tie-in methods.
Responsible for records, logs, and updates of serviced systems. Utilizes the customer's work order system for task management.
What It Takes to be Successful
Working environment will vary considerably depending upon the clients business that can range from heavy industrial environments (aerospace, factories, etc.).
Long periods of walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, lifting and other physical demands are required to perform work.
Training and development into a certified HVAC technician is required
