Job Description This is an hourly position. I am NOT looking for a c to c relationship - The end goal is growing into a career as a DBA. MUST be local. Apprentice Level DBA Colorado Springs, CO Midnight - 1000am - overnight shift - Rotating (including weekends) Rate Range 15-25 hr W2 - rate range will depend on experience - help desk experience up to DBA experience US citizens and Green Cards are encouraged to apply. Must report to our Colorado Springs office for work - no remote possible (inclement weather exceptions) Apprentice Level DBADatabase Administrator able to perform level 1 support and perform troubleshooting for multiple clients and multiple database platforms. Work from our Colorado Springs (CO) office. This is an opportunity to learn, grow your skills and get experience. Must be a team player with EXCELLENT communication skills. This role reviews and responds to automatically generated alerts and client requests in a shift environment that provides 247 coverage. Expected to work with detailed documentation to resolve issues without need for constant supervision. Properly escalates and involves senior-level DBAs in a timely and appropriate manner. Must thoroughly read and follow documentation. Calls out any missing documentation, documents new procedures, and spends time learning details of two or more database platforms (Db2, Informix, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB). After training, will be expected to access various client environments to perform planned work following documented standard operating procedures. Perform regularly scheduled proactive checks and work on databases. Builds skills to include installation of database products, parsing of diagnostic logs and basic troubleshooting of monitoring infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced, mostly friendly, senior level DBAs and grow to specialize and move up. Communicate with clients in written and spoken form. Candidate must be able to clearly communicate both verbally and through documentation. REQUIRED Using server versions of Windows Navigation of Linux or UNIX at the command line Knowledge of or experience with at least one database platform Db2, Informix, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB Interact with customers to solve level 1 support tasks Escalate to Senior staff as necessary Dependable, on time and reliable Very good communication skills, you will be required to discuss technical details with clients produce written documentation Excellent troubleshooting skills Able to work scheduled off hours shifts Must understand the need to always keep clients happy and satisfied DESIRED Certifications in any of the following database platforms Db2, Informix, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB
